The SharePoint 2016 users will feel that their productivity can grow exponentially if they can migrate to SharePoint 2019 and Microsoft has developed a freeware software for such purpose. There is a free tool available, which you can download and use to conduct the migration.
You can download this software from its URL – https://spmt.sharepointonline.com/install/default.htm
You can perform the migrations -
- From SharePoint Server document libraries
- From File Share
If you are migrating from multiple sources, you can use JSON or CSV file for bulk migration.
The Migration Tool will assist you on on-premises migrations. The modern interface of SharePoint 2019 will help you in creating a flexible, performant, and intelligent environment.
The SharePoint Migrator tool supports migration to SharePoint from -
- SharePoint Server 2010, 2013, and 2016.
- SharePoint Foundation 2010 and 2013.
Although the free SharePoint Migration tool is suitable for regular migration, it does not have features for the migration of versions, advanced filters, detailed migration reports, flexible migration scheduler, etc. If the migration gets to stop in the midway, then it can be quite troublesome too. That’s why you should use Kernel Migrator for SharePoint, which offers all the features for migration. It supports 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, and SharePoint Online (Office 365) versions of SharePoint too.
